In this episode of the Carolina Cannabis News podcast, Joellyn Evans, owner of My Green Room, a CBD dispensary in Rutherfordton, N.C., discusses what it’s like to be a hemp store owner in a time when banks are confused, small towns might not want you around and business is booming anyway.
She also discusses what it’s like to be part of the cannabis community in North Carolina, offering praise for several Carolina companies like Carolina Hemp Company, Kingdom Harvest and Palmetto Harmony.
As others in the Carolina’s burgeoning hemp industry — she even gave a shout out to her landlord! — have supported and worked with her, Evans helps people in her community who want access to CBD products but may not be able to afford the products on offer at her dispensary.
For Evans, the cannabis community extends to animals. My Green Room works to help Carolina pets by offering CBD products to local shelters and even new owners. But she doesn’t stop there: She’s helping livestock, too.
We also talk about the importance of the 2018 Farm Bill and why Evans understands why some people might not support it.

This poor German Shepherd is at the @acsrutherford . Here is his story https://www.facebook.com/1359266870819474/posts/1991832494229572/ when we saw this, I knew I had to bring in some Sana Paws and dog treats. He was a bit excited and gobbled the oil and treats right up. He’s up for adoption if anyone is interested! #adopt #germanshephard @sanabotanicals
